Why a card gets rejected

  • The card was never activated, or its balance is lower than the value entered — check it on the issuer's balance page printed on the back.
  • Too many wrong 3-digit CVC or expiry attempts have locked the card.
  • A personalised reloadable debit card in someone's name: only gift and reward cards are accepted.

Watch out. Some cards need to be registered with a ZIP code before they work online. If the issuer's site asks you to register it, do that before quoting.
